Just wanted to say that it works fine in my boat. Other user probably over tightened the nut on the inside of the boat. If you do that, when you tighten it down it will probably snap. This only needs to be tightened enough to keep it in place - put some pressure on the rubber.

A piece of junk - Kiku Wallace - San Diego, CA
This plug is made of very lightweight stamped aluminum. It broke the first time I put it in the boat. Actually I am glad it broke because on reflection it is so lightweight that I would not want to depend on it while the boat is running. You can buy a much better quality, lower price plug at Walmart.
